Emerge Iowa recruits, trains, and mentors Democratic women to serve in elected and appointed office. Emerge Iowa, like its national affiliate Emerge America, is committed to helping women become effective and ethical political leaders at the local, state, and national levels.

Potential Responsibilities
(These may change based on the organization’s needs and the applicant’s interests)
Fundraising: Research potential donors and grant opportunities and prepare related materials; Assist with event management and coordination of fundraisers and house parties
Communications: Help expand and maintain the online presence of Emerge Iowa (including Facebook, Twitter, the Emerge Iowa blog, and the website); Create press releases, blogs, editorials, etc.; Develop graphics to communicate our message
Administration: Acquire and organize materials and files; Data entry and database management
Alumnae Support: Update and maintain database with latest contact data, election results and Alumni updates; Maintain contact with program alumni
Training Implementation: Research and review training and curriculum materials for the program; Revise program curriculum materials as needed; Scout potential locations and anticipate logistical needs
Community Building: Attend events on behalf of Emerge; Research Democratic and other like-minded organizations in order to further collaboration
